#2- Garrett T-Shirt (sm, Med, Large, X large, XXlarge)

You need to send the story with a photo, or just a photo to this link:
(Please Please Please...Leave The digital photos in a high resolution so the photos can be edited.)

testimonials@garrett.com

Just send a photo of your best summer find on this Garrett Forum. This same photo must also be sent to Garrett at the above link. Please tell us which machine you used. :)

The draw will be as the previous ones........I will pull names out of a hat for the winner, so the person with the best camera or nicest photo doesn't necessarily win.

The contest ends this Sunday, October 8 at midnite my time. Winners names will be posted and the prizes will be shipped from Texas.

Only one entry (photo) per person on this forum. You can send as many photos and testimonials to Garrett Metal Detectors at the above link.

C'mon and show everybody what you got...........

As you look at the gold wedding band below, you will wonder; why do I think this is the find of the year. There are probably other posts with gold coins, rings with diamonds, rare coins and artifacts. They do rank among some great finds. Well, take time to read the short story below and you will wonder no more why I consider this the FIND OF THE YEAR.

As I was detecting at Avila beach, California with my Garrett Ace 250, a man approached me with a look of despair in his eyes. He asked me if that thing will find gold. Yes I replied, why? He told me he was throwing a football with his son and his gold wedding band flew off. He mentioned how heart broke his wife would be and how hard it was going to be for him to tell her he lost their wedding ring. He asked if I could I try and find it for him. I asked; do you know where? He pointed to his son and said it was over there where he was standing. I started to sweep in a direction away from his son. When I got about 20 feet away, he said I don

My best find of the summer and overall (to date).

It is an 1836 "Matron Head" Large Cent. If it werent for the wear on the date, this would be in EF-40 to AU-50 condition.

It was found at a depth of about 4 1/2 inches using the Garrett Grand Master Hunter CXIII at an old cellar hole of what was a tavern that burned down around 1840, according to records. Found at the site along with the coin was a "plated" flat button from the same period, a much older "Gilted" flat button (which still had some cloth attached) and other various artifacts.

A few odd things happened there, in retrospect. I am not a supersticious person, and don't believe the tales of the "Jersey Devil", but this was the very woods the legend was born. Had I thought about them at the time, I might have fled. When I first stepped into the hole, I thought a snake had wrapped itself around my ankle. I nearly panicked. As I looked down I saw that somehow my sneaker lace had untied and wrapped itself(?) 3 times around my calf! Then, later, as I held the cent in my hand I heard a voice in my headphones...NO LIE! I have the treasure talk feature, but this was a distintly male voice. I couldnt understand it and before I knew it, it stopped. I was 5 miles from the nearest paved road, and 8 from the nearest human. There is no cellular service, so I know it wasn't an errant signal. I was so excited about the find, I didn't give it a second guess, but on the way home it started to creep me out.
