Calling it quits for the season...

Normally, I keep my CZ-5 in my vehicle, just in case the weather warms up enough to melt the snow and thaw the ground. Usually, winter doesn't close it's icy grip on this part of MI until January. However, this year seems to be starting off early. I've had snow on the ground since Thanksgiving. I have about 8" in my yard, and it's not going anywhere for awhile.

I went ahead and pulled my CZ and digging gear out and stored it. I figured that after I finished moving some stuff from my MIL's house today, I would total up my finds for this year.

I've been keeping an eye out when I pack and move stuff, as there is my MIL's mother's stuff mixed in. This lady, whom I've never met, obviously had a taste for cheap Avon jewelery, as I've found loads of it. However, I did manage to find four '64 Kennedy halves, a '43 Merc, a Wheat, and three German coins in a coin purse, then a makeup compact (possibly silver with gold inlay) that had a Silver Certificate $1 bill.

Last week, I found a medicine container that had 27 Wheat's, dated ‘27, ‘35, ‘36, ‘37, ‘39, three ‘40’s, ‘40D, three ‘42’s, ‘43 steelie, four ‘44’s, three ‘45’s, ‘45D, two ‘46’s, ‘48, two ‘51D’s, and ‘52D. In another container, I found a '45 Wheat, and two transit tokens, one from Minneapolis, and one from Honolulu dated 1924!

Today, I wasn't really expecting to find much. However, I did find some coins, all modern, about 40
