Why,or what reason would you send your metal detector in for calibrating.I read someone say they had sent it back to Garrett for this process.

Mine was in for a new coil and Sue
said they recalibrated it free..
It matching the coil to the
inner electronics i think she said

Im sure the more experience will give you and me
and better answer

Like any electronic instrument they get a little out of whack once in awhile - just like your computer. Your detector is nothing more than a computer on a stick. And often when changing coils you may need to have your tector tuned to that particular coil.

Hi BILL,what symtoms would show when its out.i use the gti 1500 with the standard coil,and i sometimes use the scorcher coil
 
Using those two coils wouldn't change anything as the 1500 is calibrated to those coils. I use both of them but prefer the original white coil. If the detector is out of sync it will be a little eratic or may not ID properly or detect properly.
