Manual says to hunt deeper finds search in Pinpoint,frequently releasing the trigger momentarily to maximize sensitivity.....Is this like a boost mode? Will this weaken batteries etc?
 
Using pinpoint puts the machine in non-coil motion all metal mode. However, you can increase the sensitivity of the pinpoint mode by pulling the trigger towards you (which activates this mode) and turning the adjustment knob up. This adjustment will stay until you change it again, or turn the machine off. The default sensitivity of the pinpoint mode is 60.
