A co-worker was on the phone today talking with his elk hunting buddy. It seems the Buddy's son came home after spending time in the local woods with his shirt in his arms. The boy plops the shirt onto the kitchen table and exposes almost two hundred dollars in coins.
It seems the winter snows scoured a hillside and left the coins plainly visible..
Well....off go father and son to the spot and they find thirty more dollars worth of coins.
My co-worker knows I posted my fathers Ace 250 in the classifieds so he is now chomping at the bit to get his hands on it and see what coins are still undiscovered in the brush.
When I asked him the dates of some of the coins he just gave me the "dumb look". You know the one...The look that means he has no clue why I would ask such a question. After telling him a bit about the value of coins from certain eras he started to understand.
We are meeting in the a.m. for a quick lesson on coin hunting and Ace technique. I will be happy to keep us all updated on the contents of the cache. Should be interesting.
And of course....the cache was found on private land with owners permission.
