Cabo detector Rx

My son lives in Cabo San Lucas Mexico and I want to take a detector to him. I use a Sovereign GT but I am considering a PI for him as I doubt the beaches are as trashy as where I hunt. He also snorkels a lot and under water capability is a plus but not a must. Does anyone have a recommendation or have experience with the Baja beaches that can offer some opinions? Thanks

I detect there as well on occasion. I would recommend an Excalibur. The dry sand is full of trash, wet sand better still lots of fish hooks, spark plugs and a few bottle caps. If your son has a whole lot of time a PL may be the way to go if not a Excal. would be the way to go.
Do not forget a gooooood quality scoop and a pouch bag.
Does your son scoot around in the water with a torpedo shaped thing pulling him through the water.

He snorkels for fish and lobster mostly from shore. He is a free diver as I was in Hawaii back in the day. There are few MD sportsmen there and he wants to have a go at it to add to his outdoor activity. There are large expanses of beach similar to the Caribbean islands where a lot of tourists go to enjoy. His friends offered him loan when he told him he wanted to MD the beach thinking he needed financial help as it is not done there as per the locals. I think it would be a great opportunity and he know the area well. He wants to "borrow" my GT but....
