I got one for shallow water hunting. Don't want that box anywhere near the water.

thats the only reason i can think of so if not going near the water get the short one long one is a pain in the cable.

The longer cables are for the hip mount style machines. If you don't have a hip mountable unit, you don't need a longer cable.

I got a 10X12 DD coil from a hunter in another state and it came with a super long coil wire.
So long that I can leave my box on one side of the street and hunt on the other.
Almost that long, anyway.

I just wrapped all the extra around the top shaft of my Vaq to keep it nice and warm in the winter.

Nice to have the longer cord when you need it. Otherwise it justs adds weight.

Course when you need it and don't have it, you gotta buy an extension cord. Luckily Tesoro sells the extension cords too.

thanks for all the info i order my cleansweep coil today should be here by monday... i went with the extra length better to have and not need the to need and not have... (thats what she said)

The longer cord is a nuisance to wrap and fool with if you never need it. It is, however, nice on machines where the box is hip or shoulder mounted away from the shaft and coil.
