Here is a little something I thought up. Of course it is not entirely mine, Obviously influenced from a certain something that I bet some of you know.


This is my detector.

There are many like it, but this one is MINE.

My detector is my best friend. It is my life.

I must master it as I must master my life.

My detector without me is useless. Without my detector, I am useless.

I must detect my detector true.

I must detect deeper than my enemy who is trying to detect me.

I must detect him before he detects me. I will...

My detector and myself know that what counts in the field is not the batteries we use,

the noise of our headphones, nor the holes we make.

We know it is the finds that count. We will find...

My detector is human, even as I, because it is my life.

Thus, I will learn it as a brother.

I will learn its weaknesses, its strengths, its parts, its accessories,
its coil, and its meter.

I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage.

I will keep my detector clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready.

We will become part of each other. We will...

Before God I swear this creed.

My detector and myself are the defenders of my finds.

We are the masters of our sites.

We are the saviors of my life.
