Cabin Fever Cure - Weekend Finds

floodplaindetector

Well-known member
I got somewhat caught up on my work projects so I decided to take Friday off and headed south to detect a number of old parks I had researched.
Weather was beautiful and hit 60 degrees on Friday and Saturday. Ground was a little hard in shaded areas but overall not too bad.
Paper thin worn Seated Dime is 1875 and was just a very slight chirp and I was lucky to hook onto it. Buffalo nickel is 1934.
Indian head pennies are 1882,1882,1883,1889,1893,1897,1898,1899,1901,1906,1907. I kept wanting an old V nickel on this trip and seemed to hit
Indian head pennies.
Alot of the Indian head signals were very subtle and next to nails. Most of the coins were in the 7-10 inch range.
Large brass coin is 1931 100th anniversary of the reaper coin.
Small ring is sterling silver.

Holy smokes, you are killing the parks. I hope you aren't in my state; sounds like you cleaned them out wherever you are. Congratulations!

Dave, knew it was a matter of time until you hit the trail again...and as usual, you hit the jackpot. Great looking pot of silver--walker, seated, mercs and all those indians. Congrats on a great start to the new year.

:surprised:Floodplain you are incredible! It's just amazing the quantity of silver and old copper and nickles you find. Are you the only person who metal detects in your county?

I was a few states below my county :) and no i'm not the only person who metal detects since we have an area club with numerous members.
A guy I sometimes detect with (AKA SK) has off the charts skills and got over 400 silver last year.

Great research on the old parks to produce some awesome old coins! Another impressive weekend. I would say that helped with the cabin fever.

Congrats on the KILLER finds !

Very nice. I'll bet it was good to be out! Congratulations on the finds.
