No amazing finds here, however what is amazing to me is the fact that i found them at all... arrived sat morn 5am jersey shore for low tide... a constant 10mph wind directly out of the west kept the tide out longer than normal and also kept wave to anemic level much like you would expect in a bay... 1st beach,2nd beach ,3rd beach all mushy fresh sanded in sand basically devoid of any targets...4th beach i noticed last weeks storm had no effect on the storm dunes but did have some effect on the shoreline... this is just what im looking for.. i go down to the waterline, its a little fluffy but not nearly as soft as the beaches i just came from and this beach has a nice slope to it so i am optimistic. ... for the life of me i can not find anything in the wet sand,nothing.. so i hunt high low and everywhere in between and get maybe 1 or 2 coins per hr.. i turned back to hunt my way back to the car doubling back over the same section of beach slope i had hunted 45 minutes prior and guees what? I start getting signals in the wet sand i just hunted.. im popping them out at a rate of like 3 coins every 5 minutes..granted they are all deep but im getting some action... i soon realized that what little wave action there was was moving the loose gravel and schells over the loose sand on the slope thus putting targets just within range of the excal...this went on for about an hour...and just as fast as it started it stopped..wind direction changed, gravel and schells stopped moving ,targets dried up... all this chain reaction on a 75 yard long stretch of beach... just blows my mind how short the window of opportunity was..it was a learning day for sure...[attachment 326262 IMG_20160131_0737514591.jpg][attachment 326263 IMG_20160131_074038415_HDR1.jpg] found these garter belt clips ,they seem old timey like... sure felt good to get out...happy hunting gl..

I hear ya bootyhound. The beach is an anomaly that I have quit trying to figure out. I can find a pocket of coins like you did above and then go for an hour without a decent target. The picture is a tidal berm that was at the beach a couple of years ago. There were coins just lying on the surface and just below all up and down that berm. Like a fellow detector says, "It all depends on where you step". Nice find of those garter clips. They do look old.
