It's only been a month since I put my Ace away for the season and already I'm going nuts. Been thinking about going down to the local musem......they are always lookimg for volunteers and i'm thinking it might be a good in for insight into local history. Besides, I've carried several finds in there and asked if they could help me with some background on them.. In fact last spring I found a token which said it was issued by " the bank on the corner" so I took that down and unfortunately they didn't know anything about it either. That was last spring. A week ago she called and said she had run across a newspaper article from 1920 that mentioned the bank on the corner reopening under new management. I was pretty impressed at that. Small town-small museum-great helpful people.

MrGee While your down there Check out Hotel rates any state on the Gulf Coast. We did last year. Ocean front, month of Jan. $650 to $800 for the month !! Costs abt that much for us to stay home. Were bailing. I will keel over digging a pull tab rather than a shovel of snow.

Great idea Dancer and believe me it's something that I've considered. I can see it now.....you, me and about 5000 other detectorist shoulder to shoulder, marching down the beach. We'd look like a chorus line. Syncronized detecting.

I hear you MrGee. It's been a pretty mild winter though, it's only been down to -20 (-4F), and there isn't much for snow. It's SO depressing to see brown grassy patches, but not be able to dig due to the ground being rock solid. Hopefully spring will come early!!
