C$ Where are my settings going?

I am learning too love and hate this thing.I put some settings in there and I use it Monday with no problem, then today I took it to a park, tryed to find the presets Well not there. I tryed Bills 525 setting. This is the first I really got to use the C$ where I could paly with it.I do have to admint when it locks on to something it locks on.There was a bottle cap on the ground so I tryed the thing out about the cap and it worked good.I hit a hard 34 no matter what I did it hit right on, with the bottle cap the numbers jumped all over. Some one here said something about want to rap this thing around a tree and the the earth is made of steel only when the C$ is in pinpoint.I didnt bring the 3D so I would have to use the C$ and glad I did. When reading the opman on it yo say how could this take so long to learn. As of now I have a lot to learn, today was one day closer to using it better.I still hate it and also still love it,it just seems as if the C$ wants me to learn it. I would mess up on it and then it would find a coin then it would mess up then find a coin. Its going to be nice over the weekend and I am not going home so I am going to spend Sat & Sunday playing with it. One more thing, the first time out and even today all my digs was only about two to three inches, the three inch was a dog tag all coins were no deeper then two inches. Will the C$ go deep,I have the 3D and dig targets deep. I found Sunday with the 3D my first real fake gold ring of the year. The gold looking stuff on it started coming off on my fingers as I try to clean it, what a rush though when I seen the gold in the hole, it was nice until, well we all have had this happen. Well got to go to bed. Thanks for reading,I didnt say much,I post some thing.O the finds today 4-25c 6-1c 2-5c 1-10c a dogtag and pulltabs.

It usually isn't there, <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Can't help ya on the settings thing, Have had a C$ since they came out and never programmed anything in other than when I first got it to see if it worked. LOL
Another thing that may help on some of the bottlecaps...The newer ones (not old and rusty) will read negative when you sweep the front or rear edge of the coil over them. Don't know why they read good when centered. Monte on another forum calls this "edge pass rejection" and it works.

then throwing it on the ground stomp the crap out of it then back over it with a truck for good measure. I felt that way for the first 15 or so hours, but then I decided to put all my other detectors in storage and just focus on the C$ and after 25 hours or so, I started to really like it, then around the 40 hour mark you really start feelin the C$ love.
But don't give up, its about to get so much better. Most guys get rid of their C$'s within the first 5-10 hours of use, which is ashame because they haven't even scratched the surface yet as to what the C$ can do.
The manual should explain to you how to save & pull up programs. I for one don't really use that feature myself, I just set it up to the area that I'm going to hunt, which aint no big deal. I can program it as quickly as I could pull up a program anyway.
Good luck,
Mike

I thought I had saved my settings, but turned out that I didn't, and then when I was fooling with it trying to save my settings, I saved the factory preset to everything. Man..what a mess. Luckily the manual straighten me out.
Go back and read the manual and practice saving settings in memory. Thats what I have had to do to make sure I know what I'm doing <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
I know a couple of people have said they don't save settings, but I think you should at least save a ground balance setting to use when you want to ground balance and a hunt setting to start if you don't want to start at FP.
A proper GB is crucial, so I am toying with a GB setting of All Metal mode, sens setting of 5, and threshold of +1. That way I can GB and bob the coil afterward and see how I did, and re-balance as necessary. If its saved in memory, I don't have to spend time fooling with the settings, I just bring up the memory location and do it, then return to a hunt memory setting.
By the way...the world is only made of metal if your cable is being pickup by the pinpoint mode <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">

Until i decide to change them and experiment with something else, due to ground conditions, moisture, or amount of trash,or?? that's the fun of it=EXPERIMENTING <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">

I wanted to have the programs in so I could see how each one would ack on the target and make notes to what its doing.I going to a park after work and grid off an area, put three programs in go over the area and drop poker chips on targets.I am not going to let the C$ win,I am,just have to learn how it talks. This is going to be fun over the weekend,in the upper 60s low 70s,no Nancy,no grandkids, no anybody to stop me from playing all weekend. Then again I will miss ,Nancy, grandkids and the things we do. Hope everyone has a great and safe weekend.
