thats what it is, BUT if you are in an area with the potential for large high conductors it pays to dig em. By large I mean something bigger than a silver dollar. You never know what people may have lost and it could be something worthwhile. My philosophy is to dig all signals that are unusual for a particular site regardless of what they read.

In my area, when hunting in some high mineralization, a 40 number is common. In a post a little further down, I hit a solid 41 in river sand at a playground (the wife likes to hunt too, but she can't dig so we go to sand)

I moved some sand with my foot and rescanned and the number dropped down to around 36. It turned out to be a clad dime down about 7". I have also dug 51 hits that turned out to be clad quarters in the same type of sand.

I think the CS just kicks the number up if it has a hard time identifying the object. What I plan to do next time I get a high number like that is to fool with my settings and see if I can get a better number. Perhaps I have the sensitivity too high? or not high enough? We'll find out.

Happy CoinStriking :)
