C$ Question

I hit a park I've hit in the past with the C$. When I got there, I turned the machine on with the same settings I;ve used in the past (Disc 99, Sens 7, Thresh -35). It instantly started chirping at me before I started swinging. It would not stop. I adjusted the Sens and thresh and got it to calm down at Sens 4, thresh -45, but it still would occasionlly chirp at me. After about 30-minutes, the overload alarm went off and wouldn't stop. I looked down and the low battery signal was flashing. My question is as the batteries get low, does the C$ lose the ability to hold the settings? Just wondering.

I'd say that may very well have been the problem. I guess you'll know when you change out the batteries. Speakin of batteries.....I guess I better grab a couple and get out the door! Sun's out bright <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin">

because then you start losing depth and it becomes very unstable.

Hi,
yes you described a common occurence when the batteries are shot.
The easiest way to avoid this is to always run a freshly charged set of NiMH batteries. They cost almost nothing and will last as long as the detector.

Thanks all for the battery comments. I thought that may be the issue. I have some 200 mha batteries that were in the machine and showing 6V, so...Thanks again.
