C$ PINPOINTING ?

Cal_Cobra

Active member
I recently picked up a C$ from a forum member here and have been trying to learn it, and one item that's been dodgy for me has been using the pinpointing.

Using the stock 8" coil while PP'ing I'll scan over a target until I have the highest # targeted, but what part of the coil is my focal point, the inside circle of the search coil or am I off ?

I've been digging too many craters

TIA,
Cal

The focal point is the very center. The biggest trick is to hit the PP button a 2nd time quickly so it narrows the spot.
Then you shall have no trouble.

On my CS the buttons are impossible to work with my fingers so I had to add an adhesive bumper
and that made PP easy. See the CS website for pictures and details.

Hi John,

I have your C$ site bookmarked, I've learned a lot from it (still have a long ways to go though).

That's a good tip on the PP'ing, I'll try it out. I want to play around with the 10.5" coil, as it seems to be similar to a DD coil, I assume the PP spot will be at either the top or bottom of the coil...not sure.

Thanks and hh,
Cal
