C$ or CZ5 and Hot rocks

Has anyone used either the C$ or CZ5 around any iron mineralized rocks ? And if so, is there a way to descriminate these among a field of relics. I am heading to WV for a relic search, and have had no encounters with bad or mineralized soils here in PA. Thanks. By the way anyone in Eastern Pa looking for a detector buddy ? My old man is getting a little to slow for me, and I'm an aggressive researcher and hunter. Happy Hunting, Jerry

I would bring both units. That way if one becomes a pain on the rocks you can switch.
Our hot rocks here (magnitite I think) or black stones w. iron in 'em. ID as a +51 on the C$. So when using a Coinstrike, our solution has been to skip over +51 numbers. If unsure, usually they will null on pinpoint then ya know it's a rock & not a cache of silver bars :)

I hunt in SALT mode all the time, as that seems to help with the "fog" that microscopic iron seems to produce in the soil here.

Small negative hot rocks will not respond on a CZ in Discriminate. However, if Auto-tune, they will sound off just the opposite of a good target's sound; it hits loud and high, then fades in volume and pitch as you move away from the negative hot rock. BIG negative hot rocks WILL respond in Discriminate, but, they won't sound off until after you've passed over the rock, and the signal can come in anywhere. If you're getting a signal that just cannot be pinpointed, and seems to move several inches with each pass, and bounces all over the place, switch over to Auto-Tune and see if it's a negative.
