i recently ran accross a bobcat 2 .i was wandering if anyone had any experience with these.in air tests it doesnt seem all that deep so i was wandering if someone could maybe scan a coin and tell me their results.i just want to know if mine is within specs and i can find no info on the net.it seems to be a very solid detector and is in very good condition.also is it hipmount only or can you pole mount it....thank you daniel

If my memory serves me correctly C&G went out of business at least 15years ago. They were not a bad little detector but technology has come a long way since then.

Danie,I bought a Bobcat from the big K in 1977 and used it for about a week before upgrading to a Garrett Coinhunter TR.For a VLF the Bobcat lacked depth maybe two to three inches for a Quarter. The unit was very compact and well made but just didn't perform.I saw one on Ebay the other day for 75.00,which kind of jarred my memory about this unit.HH Ron
