Got up early and hit the beach which is not far away at all Temp hovering around 20-25 degrees with a slight NW wind...Low tide and big waves....I even met some surfer dudes about there enjoying their sport Brrrrrr!
With all the great C$ info I absorbed from you nice people here in my head I GB the C$ without a problem and with a setting of "710" I started swinging in the wet sand, then in the shells, the unit ran very stable with very few falsing signals..after a while I got comfy & I started to do a snake pattern bringing me from WET to DRY with some black sand in between & still the C$ ran rock solid....signals were few but the ones I did get ID'd on the meter as predicted, I like the way the numbers lock on a target, and with the combination of the audio tones that really tells it all....later I went to another beach 8 miles away that had a different makeup of terrain and found a few more coins mostly in the upper dry sand areas full of trash.....I even increased the settings to "810" and the C$ ran stable also.....junk read as junk, coins as coins, bottle caps read differently on the meter ranging from +17 to the mid 20's depending on their makeup but the audio tone let me know what they were and thats the key, I was wearing Killer B's also that give great audio...weight & balance was fine with the 8" coil...I have a 10.5 coming for big fields and I'll hipmount when I run that coil......all in all I got 6 coins and I'd say my first C$ workout was a learning experience and a big success...... tommorow I'll be doing some Farmfield relic hunting so I'll report back then.....
Yu'all have some luck out there !!!
