C$ and Small Coil

RLOH

Well-known member
Eltons posts on his new C$ got me fired up and I decided to take both detectors to a local park this morning. I started out with the cz70 and found 8 deep wheat pennies, but no silver. I have dug at least 25 wheats here the last three times I have been here with not one piece of silver. I always figure I have to dig about 10 wheats to get one silver coin, but recently that theory is out the window. I had about an hour to hunt and I put the 70 away and brought out the C$ with the small Sunray coil. There is an area of huge trees with a maze of roots that is the trashiest spot that I have ever came across. I rarely notch anything out, but today I notched foil, tabs, and zincs, leaving only nickles open. I found 7 more wheats and one mercury dime in a short time and I only covered a small area. That combination and those settings worked super. I hardly made a dent in the area and with the small coil, it will take me several days to cover. It is always nice to be able to look forward to a good spot to hunt and this spot will produce. R.L.

It is one of few detectors quick enough on recovery to get the deep coins in modern trash even with zones notched out like you did. Actually made it easy even for a guy like me that seldom hunts trashy parks or school yards Never could figure out why the C$ did not catch on with more park hunters.

That C$ is awsome with the small coil isn't it???? What settings did you use..I have only used preset with 5"

I forgot.great finds !!!!! I am really fired up over the coin strike
I read what you notched out..but what did you do with sens and threshold

Elton, I had the sens at 8 and threshold at -5. I have absolutely no problem running the sens at that high of a setting. I also have never had a problem with interference. R.L.
