C$ all metal vs discrim with iron at 00

OK..gotta a question. Going relic hunting. Is the C$, depth and sensitivity wise, the same when in all metal vs discrimination mode with iron at 00, nothing nothced. Seems to me my C$ , with all other settings the same ( ie, sens and, threshold, salt off) runs a lot more stable and can pick up my deeply buried quarter with high/mid tone ID, numbers around 42-45 consistently, yet it's harder to distinguish that target in all metal.

Just wondering if all metal is the way to go for dig all relic hunting. Does all metal mode allow or compensate for less than optimal sweep speeds ? I know I have to get the optimal sweep speed in discriminate mode to hit that deep quarter, but when I do, it can hit it 80-90% of the time. Some of my other detectors cannot even see that quarter let alone hit it occasionally. Is all metal on the C$ similar to auto tune on a CZ where it gives the coil into a bigger footprint and sees more ground ?

My ID Edge does the same thing. Deep targets give a more pronounced signal in Disc mode than All Metal mode. But All Metal seems to have a wider footprint.
