I went to Conso last week and happened to see a MAN'S flashlight.
I have a 2 million candle power up in Roscommon and it is one heck of a light. It can shine as far as I can see and that is enough. Right? Not for a real man it ain't!! I am here to tell you for sure. The battery has gone bad on that one, it will not hold a charge and I was wondering if it was gonna cost me as much for a battery as a whole new light.
I was walking the aisles and there it was!! A big black beauty and it was a TEN MILLION CANDLEPOWER!! Now that bad boy was a mans flashlight. I don't even think they would sell such a thing to a meer woman thing.
Tt was only 24 bucks and had a low power and a high power and waa about as big as a cocker spaniel! A small cocker.
I grabbed that bad boy in a heartbeat and headed for checkout.
I got out to my turck and opened the thing up. It had a car charger and I plugged it in. I was sad to read that it took 18 hours for a full charge though.
Well I set it in the back, plugged in and let it charge.
We drove up to Roscommon that evening and I imediately plugged it into the wall to keep the charge going.
That night I gave it a test run and it was impressive but the charge was not full.
The next day I decide to kayak the river but Mary was a bit leery yet as she had gone over in the cold water last spring. It is a 16 mile run and I had a great 4 hours on the river. Just drifting and talking to the occasional fisherman.
That night we had a few toddies and when I went to bed I was exhausted. Something I do when that tired is dream. Goofy assed dreams that never make a lick of sense but make sense at the time. I dove head first out of bed and bounced off the dang wall one time because I thought I had seen a critter climbing the wall. It was crazy and I have done that goofy crap more than once when tired. Oh we have had lots of laughs over goofy Royal.
Well the other night when I was exhausted the dang cat started playing in the night. She never does that except when the yard is full of critters, deer and coons usually.
Well in the night I hear this thumping -I think- and goings on. I, in my stupor have no idea what it is,. Our place is in the middle of woods and a couple hundred feet off the road and even though we have never had a problem I start wondering if I had locked all the doors. I am not sure if I am dreaming this crap or not but you gotta be careful, even if you are nuts.
Finally I said something like, "Somebody is ****ing around outside the house and I am gonna stop the #####!" Now Mary sleeps with earplugs for some reason, I didn't mention that I have been known to snore did I?
Anyway she sleeps with earplugs and it is probably what saved my arse that night because she raises hell when I talk like that. It don't matter if it is my waken self or my dreaming crazy self either.
Well I grabbed my super light and headed necked for the living room and the door wall. By golly I was gonna teach a dang prowler a thing or two. me and the super light were ready!!
I staggered through the blackness of the living room and stood about 4 ft from the door wall and hit the superlight switch. WHOLEY CRAP!! DON'T DO THAT!!
That dang light bounced back off that dang doorwall and when it hit my eyes it knocked me backwards. I thought someone had beated me to the draw and was shining a light at me. I flipped mine off and so did he. Hummmmm?? That is strange. I flicked mine back on, like an idiot and my eyes were fried again.
Hell it was my own flashlight! I realized what I was doing finally and walked up to the door and a foot away lit it up again. Dang!! Fried them again. That hurt!
I finally layed it agains the glass and looked the back yard and woods over. There was not a dang thing there! Just a goofy dream.
I walked out on the deck, you can do that necked up there and lit it up again as that was the first time I had had a full charge in it. I shined it to the top of our highest Oak tree and it was like daylight up there. I walked out on the lawn and shined it up to the road, from there about 280 ft and it was like daylight.
I finally went back to bed because I didn't want the neighbors to see the light down there and call the cops. I was still necked and finally waking up.
This happened last weekend. I have a few pictures I took on the river in the camera and later I will post them if they are any good.
I just thought I would post how stupid I am because nobody would ever believe it. Except my mother, mebby my daughters and my wives and maybe Mary or maybe Linda or Diane or Joanne or Val or Chris or maybe err, I gotta get some work done around here!!

You just better be glad the door didn't blow shut and locked while you were roamin around nekked. You would've had a grand time splainin that to the local gendarmes and with a flashlight too

Great story! Made me laugh, and I could ALMOST picture it!
Ear plugs?? Poor Mary! Of course Scott says I can snore louder than he does. So, if you get me, him and Trudie (our Weimer) all in the same room, it's bad if you are the last one to fall asleep!

I sure like the remoteness of the Roscommon place.
Heck, if I remember right Mikie has a story about going out neckked. Maybe he already posted it though. Seems like it was winter too

Wonder if you could water proof it and lower it into the water when fishing at night...maybe lure a "Jaws" type fish your way. Funny story, enjoyed it! Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas)
