Hey everyone i just registered to this forum, and would like some advice on what kind of entry level detector to buy i have had some in the past that were just cheap ones, i'm only gonna spend about well pro. 3-400 max whats the best machine i could get where i could still weed out trash and find mostly good stuff. i saw a guy in a video yesterday tune his machine to only pick up siver and he was finding all kinds of good silver , any advice would be helpfull

Thanks Travis wells

I would get a Garrett ACE 250.. I have one and i love it.. I think it is the best metal detector for the money..

Get a Garrett ACE 250!!!! You wont be sorry, I love mine!!!!

Check out my finds below with my ACE 250...

The 250 IS a good starter detector, well within your price range and will find you plenty of goodies!! It will take a little practice but it won't be long before you can pinpoint a coin within an inch and get 'em in your pouch pronto. Welcome aboard!! Don't believe all the videos you see, silver is hard to come by, no matter what kind of detector you have.

Get the Ace 250. You won't be disappointed. I bought a bounty hunter for my first detector and then I got myself an Ace 250 and have not used the bounty hunter since. You just can't beat the Ace for the money. Joe

Buy the Ace 250. It's only $200 and you can use the rest of the money your able to spend
to buy a sniper coil 4.5 inch that you'll never want to stop useing, and a good Lesch knife,oh yes, a good pinpointer.
I would suggest the F2 if it were not so porblematic a machine. SOme of them seem to be good and others
end up getting returned, at least that sems to be what reviews indicate.

Go for the Ace 250. The other machines you seemed to be talking about are if I am not mistaken, Tesoro's. They are good machines.

RR

>>>>Is it as good as they (us) say?<<<<<<<<
Guess you'll have to buy one and see for yourself.
Like tasteing water. No one can tell you what it taste like.
RR:lol:

I bought one about 3 wks ago and love it its as good as they say
.Im just starting to learn mine better now
.

Ace 250 :garrett: Don't leave home without it.

With your budget, get the Garrett Ace 250 AND the sniper coil AND the coil protectors!

Ace 250 and sniper coil. Skip the coil covers. Keep them clean and take good care of your gear. Use the money you would have spent on a good digging tool or the environmental cover if you plan on hunting in the mud, snow, or light rain. My $.02.

I have Tesoro, Bounty Hunter, and a Fisher. They're all good detectors-and the Fisher CZ-if it only weighed a couple of pounds-might give the Ace a run for the money. But-and I don't know why-there's just something FUN about seeing the cursor jump to quarter-and how the heart starts to beat if it jumps into the dollar area! And you can set it to do just about your heart's content. It's just FUN!
