Buying AT PRO Int.

Good day gentlemen. I just sent off a money order for an A.T. PRO International package with extra water headphones. I don't have any big ambitions to hit the water but it should come in handy on a rainy day. I have been detecting for about 4-5 years now ? I started out with an ACE 250, then bought a Tesoro Tejon, and now I'm back to a Garrett again. I have degenerative arthritis in my three lowest vertebrae which gives me some rough days. So it should be helpful for me to discern what I wish to dig or not dig by tones. My new machine will not be in for a couple of weeks but that's no biggie. There is still plenty of snow and ice to melt here yet.

Congratulations, the at pro would probably be my next choice as well but right now
I only have about three months of detecting under my belt! I can appreciate what you get
in this machine especially with the potential for ten foot submersion. I've heard a lot of good
about this machine and its capabilities of being able to go head to head with the more expensive
brand metal detectors.

Good Choice, George

Hey welcome back it's been a while..

The AT pro will be BONUSnow that our penny has been discontinued. All those coin sized objects in the high 70's-mid 80"s will be older Real copper pennies, large cents, silver coins and silver/gold rings. The timing for you couldn't be better.....

Thanks all. Yes John, I am doing the happy dance now that those imitation pennies are disappearing. It was a real irritant to pop half corroded clad pennies. Which on the other hand is great in itself. In a few years the clad pennies will melt into mush, leaving as you said, the better stuff. I had a pretty good season last year. I found an historic pioneer trail and I determined were the stopping points were, basically as far as a horse team could travel in one day. And water was key, people and animals camped by potable water. I found my first Standing Liberty quarter and other silvers from Victorian to Edwardian. Time spread of 1870 to around 1911, with about 5-6 fish. I even found a Nazi eagle early fortys coin in another part of that field, go figure. Anyway, there is a lot of iron junk mixed in there so I look forward to seeing how the AT handles this. I spanked that field pretty hard but we all know that there is always something missed. Have a good day all.

Wow! Those were some fantastic finds!

Thanks, it surprised the heck out of me. I moved down south after working native fur trade sites etc. I didn't have a lot of hope as the south has been hit hard for a long time. A little research, work, and a lot of luck found me a good spot. I think that I will try an old famous rodeo grounds this coming year. I am permissioned for it but I know that everyone and his dog has pounded it. But I surprised myself this year by being thorough on pounded sites and getting some keepers. I'm just another Joe schmoe detectorist but I have found that I can still squeak out some neat old coins by gridding and having the patience to be thorough, check edges etc. Maybe that is how it is now. I have heard stories of guys hitting virgin spots in the seventies and coming home with half a cup of old silvers. She's sure not like that now. Six silver in one day was my best last year and I don't do that very often either.
