I thinking about buying a tesoro. either a vaquero... cibola.... golden uMax..... lobo....Look at them before... but turn away because of the review I read...that they are not good on deth...... but want ask people that know about them... the ones that use them .......I hunt old silver and gold coin,, and jewely.. not a relic hunting and hunt mosty old home sites and church and parks...the ground is mineralize soil..what is the pro and cons about them..How is the lobo on silver coin and the other one on gold... Thanks.

If your ground is mineralized then you will want to stick to the models with manual ground balancing.

The Lobo is designed for gold prospecting, the Cibola and Golden are both preset ground balance which, like Monkeywrangler said, you don't want if you have highly mineralized soil. That leaves the Vaquero.

The Vaquero is easy to learn and use and it should get you decent depth compared to other detectors in its price range.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your decision.

You will get all the depth that you need with the Vaquero or Cibola, just choose the right one for your soil conditions.

the vaquero is like an eldorado on steroids. Either would serve you well but the vaquero should get a bit more depth since it uses H.O.T. coil and circuitry....The tejon, vaquero and cibola all use H.O.T circuits and are supposedly able to get a bit more depth than previous models. H.O.T.=high output technology

Might try the metal detector classified forum, I seen on it the other day somebody got a good deal on a vaquero from Richard.
