Buying a new Fisher CZ 21 what's better 8 inch or 10 inch coil.

I'm looking at buying a new fisher CZ 21 any feedback on the best coil size either an 8 inch or 10 inch I've heard that the 8 inch is better but would like any feedback would be appreciated. For beach and salt water use in Southern California.

I have a CZ 21 and like it a lot. I bought the 10 coil, if I had to do it all over again I would order an 8 inch coil. I have never used an 8 inch but believe it would be easier to use " in the water" along with better pin pointing ability.
Just My opinion.

I have both. I use the 8" coil in weeds and the 10.5 in open sand. Love them both.

I prefer the 10" for coverage in swimming areas and that's what is on my CZ 20/21. Back in the late 80's through about 2000 when I had a 1280X I upgraded from the 8" to the 10" via sending it to Fisher. I did excellent in lakes with the added coverage and depth, never regretted it. It's easy to miss targets water hunting. Besides that the 10" works well in open areas like farm fields if you are so inclined.
That's my 2¢.
