Buying a home?

Here's a little advice for those shopping for a new home.
Make sure the home you're interested in is MD friendly. Take your metal detector with you and make sure it's compatible with it. My home is so frustrating. I can't play with my detector in my own yard not to metion inside. I can't even get a decent air check to get to know my detector better. I swear there must be a UFO buried under my home.can't even make test garden pity cuz my house is over 55 yrs old.

I think he's referring to EMI - Electromagnetic Interference; in addition there could be hot ground and lots of trash involved. My house is the same way. A test garden is out of the question & forget about trying to get an accurate air test. EMI can greatly affect depth and can skew the ID on deeper targets. Some machines handle it better than others. Always a good idea to make use of the machine's frequency shift control if it has one. Turn up your sensitivity and find the quietest channel before setting it up for your hunt.

I live in a "Mobile" Home so no test garden,But believe it or not EMI Free inside as all 5 of my detectors air test without a peep of EMI. They have a room all to thierself!
