This thing is a Beast!!

I just had to post it that way, for S's and G's!! LOL

In all serious though, I have had all the other Minelabs, several of each, this is my first CTX. Dang if this thing isn't good at what it does!!

I have about a whole 3 or 4 hours on it so far and like any new machine I take it to my places that I have hunted VERY hard with many other machines. This thing can find coins!! Deep coins and lock onto them!!

I am using a modified GH combined program that I am tweaking as I go and having alot of fun doing it!!

Thank you Minelab!!!

But But But.............Everybody KNOWS that they break if you pick them up!

Ha! Congratulations on your new killer machine. Best thing I have ever swung too.

Don't get too carried away Jeff!-----That thing WILL NOT dig the targets for yah!!!!:yikes:------Yeah--it's a good un----the wife & I each have one & they ain't goin nowhere!

Thanks Guys!

Been at this a while now, have had many of the top end detectors but never had the CTX. When I see it lock on good at 9" running Auto +3 @ 20 or 21 and is screaming Dig me Dig me, that's telling me something.

The more impressive thing I saw was at that same sensitivity it hit a Merc that was 6" standing straight up on edge and was a very, very solid signal.

Its gonna be my best year ever!

I don't use a CTX but I've hunted with several people who swear by them - very capable machine that has an uncanny knack for correctly IDing deep coins!

Nice start now that you found a couple easy ones , it's time to get more serious low and slow well find those that are playing hide and seek with there buddy mister iron . I hope you have similar finds like your earlier minelabs and welcome . sube

Ya know I read that and I just kinda shook my head. I just came from a Deus and heck, this CTX is built like a tank! Yeah its heavy, very heavy when you jump from a 2 LB. machine to a 5 plus LB. machine. And I am in no way bashing the Deus cuz it's a killer 2 LB. machine.

Congrats on your new CTX! If you find that your arm is feeling like it is going to fall off, the Pro-Swing 45 harness works really well-

The CTX is a much better built detector than the old Explorer 1 and 2.
Even the Quatro and Safari is a bit flimsy.

I thought the Deus was well built also.

I do a lot of salt water beach hunting and the Deus just wasn't designed for that.
In the salt water nothing beats a multi-freq detector unless its a PI.

December will make my four year anniversary using the CTX, it was a Christmas present to me from my beautiful bride. The following year she got me the two ML accessory coils. Up till then I was using my explorer xs, a pretty good detector itself. While I'm confident with the CTX I'm still learning and willing to learn is key. What got me interested in detecting in the first place was seeing what folks was digging out of my front yard, with permission, in 1995. I'm lucky to live in a historical active spot. I still wander the yard swinging but dig very little here these days, I have to pull the neighbor card and dig in their yards, with permission. Lots of woods here and that's my winter time grounds. My main searching is for civil war artifacts there is lots of revolutionary war history here too but I haven't hit the hotspots as of yet. I do find lots of colonial treasure too. I've dug more consistently the last six years because I'm retired and that blesses me with the time to do so. I really like my CTX!

I'm gonna hint around this Christmas for a different detector just because.

Thanks for the tip but I actually don't notice the weight as long as I keep the lower shaft extended out a ways.

I have had several of all the Explorer models, those detectors are still killer machines! The XS is an outdated machine that will still consistently make other much newer machines look bad!

Thank you Minelab!

Sounds like you have been having a great time detecting!

So have you thought about what other detector you may want to hint for?
