I went diggin today around a antebellum home in my town. I dug a couple of buttons and need some insight on what they are. The old looking button is really heavy, lead or pewter I am guessing you guys might be able to tell me something about them. Also found some flat buttons and a buckle or 2. Here are some pics. The F75 is a monster.

Nice collection of oldies there. One button looks to be pewter...1700's maybe? And the button with the design is late 1700 - early 1800's (?) I'm no button expert and sometimes the only way to tell is if it has a backmark that can be traced back to the company that made the button. Ron

old buttons are my single most favorite find. They come in so many types and sizes....and are kind of a personal item............much more so than coins. Looks like your on a good spot! Streak!
