I found this button today here in Florida. I don't know anything about buttons and before I toss it in the treasure chest I would like to know if I should take extra care.
 
I can make out CHAS.FISCHER SPG.CO. -NEW YORK- along the bottom
 
It's a Great Seal Button used by the military from 1902 to present. It's fairly modern and very common. Fisher's company isn't in any of the many reference books available on buttons and backmarks.

WWII or later, imo.

Still a neat find.
