I am beginning to understand why relic hunters are hot after the t2 nowdays, hit a small woods site yesterday and came away with a few goodies. Again, massive amount of iron, but was able to sniff out a few pounds of brass and lead. One eagle I button, part of and eagle A, some flaties, civil war token and a small eagle button with the backmark L&Kendrick. I know this button is attributed to the Jackson campaign era, but i can't find any proof of that. Anyone have any ideas? thanks.

That other eagle one behind it looks good too!
Yes, it IS considered "Jacksonian Era- political" check the web page below of buttons guy William Leigh, where one just sold for $50....
Personally I think that was underpriced & is probably could fetch almost $100. with gold gilt....
I have said many times that military/political buttons like that are worth alot more than most coins, as coin collectors are purists that dislike "dug" stuff with porosity issues. Even silver coins that have been in the ground a long time get what they call "environmental damage"......so buttons like that are super finds! Congrats.
