Hi all
I wonder if anybody could help me identify this metal button I found it in the U.K Its the size of a U.K 10p It Looks like a Deers head Carrying an arrow in the mouth ??possible had a small loop on back.
There is some writing very faint on the back but difficult to read,i think i can make out Quality ?? thats about all i can see.
Any help would i would be greatfull.

Thanks julian

Nice find. I think they are called sportsman's buttons. From the pictures yours looks like a one piece flat button that could have been manufactured somewhere from the 1790's to the 1840's. Someone with more button knowledge will correct me if I'm wrong.
