found this button at a place in Ky. where John Hunt Morgan came thru on his raids. no back on button. Used my xlt at about 4 inches. can anyone tell me anything about it? thanks

It's a genuine yankee infantryman's eagle-button ...but it's absolutely positively the 1870s model - a.k.a. the Indian-Wars era eagle-button. Relic-hunters usually refer to that design as "the chicken-eagle" ...note the resemblance. ;-)
