Need some help this is my first button cant find this one online and dont know much about buttons. The front says "excelior" and the back says"treble gilt standard colour". So did i find the holy grail of buttons? lol thanks Paul
 
PRE-1830 New York militia right after the War of 1812 (c.1820's) This is a very nice find! Not the holy grail but very cool. Its at least 182 years old and most likely closer to 195 years old. Congrats!

very nice button.....i likey.... great follow uo info too.... i know anything marked excelsior is new york related.... i have an 1840 belt buckle marked excelsior..... some day im gonna learn how to post pics........
 
Yea i was definitly happy to see that eagle after i gave it a bath i thought i may have found something with some history. Thanks aaron appreciate the help and bootyhound those were my first pics i posted and it took me all day to figure it out! Thanks again Paul
