Button ID Please...

I looked in Alberts book and looks similar to a tx36 or a tx18,but those are 2 piece buttons, maybe its homemade? but is the spittin image.
 
That's quite a find! It is prewar (civil war) by construction and could very well belong to a member of an early Texas Militia. However, the star was also adopted by MS and a number of Militia Units. I would send a good clear photo to Steve Sylvia at North/South Trader magazine in Orange, VA. Steve knows all of the heavy hitters in the button Dealer community. Most likely he will be able to guide you to one of them with knowledge on your find. I would say it's a very good find; congrats! David@Dixie
