Finally got out for a few hours today. I have not been out since my Father became terminally ill in March. Found end of Spencer cartridge and one pistol ball. Also found what I think is a button but can't ID it. Any help would be appreciated. This is a place that was a Civil War encampment for the whole war occupied by both sides and also has been a farm since then.

I have Albert's and Tice's books on buttons and would be glad to research it for you, but I need a little more info. Is it a one piece and is there anything on the shield or around the edges. A couple of pics from different angles would also be helpful.

Ill take some more photos and include one of back. Cant really tell if was one or 2 piece. back almost look like rust no shank visible. I cant see shield very well and I dont think i see anything around edges but will get out magnifying glass.
