I'm pretty sure that this was a button. Has anyone ever seen one like this before? Is it a family or company crest?
 
I just looked through 511 pages of my button book. "American uniform and Historical Buttons"

Didnt see anything that even resembled it. Sorry, I know that don't help much. Good Luck

Thanks SO much for all the time you put in. It definately helped! I know it's definately not a military button or a historical one. It must be a family crest, company logo or nothing...lol
 
The design could also be a stylized scarab beetle. That's what it reminded me of when I saw it, anyway. Here's a "moon bug" button that kinda resembles the design (though not the button itself):
