Saturday my hunting partner Doug and I went out to check out a new site in a huge cornfield well actually two sites or maybe it is three! The first spot is a spot that we hunted briefly a few weeks ago and where Doug got a super whipped Seated Dime and I got of course a button. Today we went out to check out this spot some more and got virtually no signals, so we went back to the back edge of the field where our previous scouting had shown some signs of a house. Immediately we started hitting button after button, mostly all flat buttons with a couple exceptions. In this spot Doug got 7 buttons and I got 4! Working our way back to the car we found another spot that may be the big house site we were expecting with a lot of brick and glass. And of course we each got another button bring his total to 8 and mine to 5 for a total of 13! One of my buttons has a Locomotive on it. Other finds included a couple of spoons and "partifacts" I also dug a “Stem Grip” brand vase frog. These round spike thing were made to keep flowers in arrangements in vase. We will hit this spot next time. The cornstalks have withered down much more and the heavy rains we have had exposed this new portion.
