Button and ring found today with Ace 250 & 12X9 coil

Button came in as a penny. The ring came in as a solid nickle. It's silver in color, but with a tinge of brass/copper on the right side of picture. No markings on inner side of ring. Anybody have any idea what it is? I know it's not an expensive ring, but does anyone know if it would be copper with a silver plating? Any ideas?
Thanks!

Could be a plated ring or hand crafted and the silver/copper composition was a bad mix when melted down. Usually silver rings from 725 or lower to 999 pure are so stamped.
