Button and lead object

These were both found at a 1799 homestead that saw some CW action. I don't think the button is military, but I'd like some verification because buttons are not my strong suit.

The lead piece looks vaguely familiar from something else I feel like I saw on a forum, but I've got no real ideas there either.
