"Button" added to Pinpoint

I've noticed this but never thought to ask until now. I bought my CZ70 used. It had a clear, round, plastic button on top of the pinpoint/search button of the machine, like this:

But I've seen others that didn't have it, like this one :

Are the little round buttons after market "add ons" or are they made that way? Maybe newer 70's had them and older ones didn't?
Anyone know?
thanks

and a good idea, think I'll find one for my Fisher. HH, Mike

Mike please let us know the source of the button, if one is found.

Many complain that pinpoint buttons are hard to engage especially with gloves on..This is not two versions of the unit, simply a clear button add-on..
Can be found in various stores and usually used under furniture etc..Quite a nice idea and I have seen them used on several machines and they do work well.

has their own brand of clear "rubber bumpers". Other's come in black. There's a section of 'em at Home Despot too. As Dan said, some are for furnature leg bottoms, but I think these are more like the ones that you can put on a kitchen cabinet door so it won't slam. I have one on my Excel PP pad. Some are actually really hard rubber. So hard I ripped 'em off my C$. The softer the better.......HH, Bill

Indeed Bill is right they are much smaller than for furniture legs, more like small disks for bottom of jewelry boxes and like items..Indeed the softer the better...Shop around as many stores have them and find ones to your liking...and yep they really work well.... </span>

I find that the "extra" button makes it easy to find the PP button without looking. A little extra tactile feedback!
