Helped a new Sovereign user,we went to one of my parks and crossed checked signals to explain the principles of the wiggle to lock on deep targets.Found a 1964 Roosevelt during the search. My friend RJ called and wanted to get some hunting in returned to the same park a couple of days later.RJ brought three customers along he sold V3s and a MXT,LOL unfamiliar with the park one hunter was complaining he thought the park was on a dump so much trash.Talked to one of the people in the park and he said the ball field was there in the early 1950s when he was young so I left the group and searched the ball field.Ten minutes in the field found a wheat, 1965 quarter and a 1959 Rosie,so I called the group over to the field. The days search ended with all four of us finding silver and two finding silver quarters and dimes.Couple days later we went back another search same ball field yielded more silver.Even though my last four searches were short each yielded a silver coin. This time of year lot of work on the horse farm. HH Ron

Sounds like a good hunt to me Ron. Finding a "few" silver these day's is a feat all by itself.
Good luck Gary

That is all it takes sometime is one local to drop the hint of where things use to be. Sounds like you found a nice little hot spot! - Wishing you the best of luck in finding more silver - Jim

Gary, you are correct, much more difficult to find silver coins.I think my park hunts are going to concentrate on lower conduct targets, like to get some gold.Weather is starting to cool off here in Michigan. Thanks Ron

Jim,the one thing I got from working at the Museum is listen to people.Interesting stories and good leads will eventually pay off. Thanks Ron

Ron, great finds and good hunts.

Speaking of listening, you're so right...Just the other day I got a tip. A place in a river where there was flat bedrock and the water was real shallow with no strong current, where the guy remembers his dad taking him to wash the family car on weekends. He said there was a line of cars and you had to wait because everybody had the same idea. Drive the car right into the shallow water with hard flat bedrock below it and wash the thing.

This was back in the 40's and 50's and probably went back further than that I'm sure. I know of the general stretch of river where he speaks and it's some rather remote unassuming area that I doubt anybody would bother to water hunt, unless they knew what I know. Next spring guess where I'll be, but with my GT in a waterproof Plano box, because even I won't wade in a river with slippery rocks with my GT chest mounted and not waterproof. Fell enough times in that river fishing for smallmouth or trout to know better.

It always amazes me that some go into a spot and pull out silver in one hunt , and hear i have hunted all summer and not one silver coin , but i got you guys beat on cut nails,

Gunnar, one of the guys invited on this search two days ago found a old ball field through research. One day search at the site he found 17 silver coins including 3 silver halves,LOL he forgot to invite me.Later Ron
