Using the V3i to snap up a few clad coins next to a local swap meet yesterday. Got a signal that overloaded the detector - thought somebody has buried a hub cap here I guess - so raised the machine up until I was able to get an ID signal - penny! So, I began digging. At about an inch deep, uncovered five or six pennies together. Checked the hole with my pinpointer and still had a target. To make a long story short, I just kept digging more and more pennies out of that hole. Finally count was 183. When I stood up and checked the hole with the V3i, it clearly read yet more pennies. By that time, though, I thought I'd better move on to find a horde of quarters. lol. Final clad count for that outing was a little over $14 - with $2 of it in pennies. While I was having fun, my wife (hunting partner) unearthed a nice gold-plated 925 bracelet as well as one of those shell necklaces tourists bring back from Honolulu. Wonder how that got there?
