Went out swinging today for a few hours and found what I thought was a nice silver ring, came in as a good, but higher than usual quarter reading and stamped .925......but it did'nt look right. Made it back home and cleaned the ring up and it looks like it's silver plated with a shiney gold colored metal underneath the silver plate and in spots rusting underneath the shiney gold colored metal (also plated metal). So we have silver plate on top of a gold colored plate on top of a steel of some sort!.....yep.... (.925 junk metal!)Find's Treasure Forums
