Burning corn here now!! I fired the corn furnace back up yesterday after a week of warm weather......

Man, the tile floors are warm, wifes happy, I'm happy!!
Now if corn doesn't go through the roof with all the new ethanol plants eating it up:yikes:

Right now, corn is around $3.00 per bushel. My gas furnace only runs when the temp rises high enough (about 42 degrees), to make the furnace go to low fire.
Eventually the unit will "choke" itself off on low flame, and will need to be re-lit when you want to use it.
Thats not a big deal, because by the time it gets to that point, the gas furnace will run maybe once or twice during the day. Then if its going to get colder that nite, I relight the corn burner, and let it take back over.
I have found that in marginal weather like that, I can run on corn until maybe noon to one P.M.
I'm pretty happy with it, the colder it gets, the better the corn furnace is.
its nice and warm in here as I type this!:clapping:
