BUMPED by large fish

Just wondering if anyone else ever gets bumped by large fish sometimes ,while water detecting . I hunt the great lakes in Canada, last week in lake Erie about 4 ft. from shore I was almost knocked over after a very large fish hit my detector coil and my leg A guy walking his dog told me sturgeon hang out by shore in the spring Anyways it was an unforgettable experience .Still got 1 gold and 1 silver ring . .

Congrats on the rings! I had a pike take a bite of my coil once, and a small 2' shark follow me around in the shallows down south one morning.

Large fish has seen that gold ring and wants it back

I dont get concerned about those large fish bumping me here in FL...... its the ones chasing him and making those huge swells that makes me take notice.

I've had turtles come up eyeball to eyeball when in neck deep water and scare both of us. One time something kept bumping my detector and when I moved into shallower water, a large bass was bumping the coil wire on my detector shaft where it was bulged out. Guess he thought it was a worm on a hook and he could bump it lose from the hook and get something to eat. He was old and wise and it wasn't his first rodeo. There is a type of fly that comes on the lake in droves and a fish jumped to catch one and landed close to the back of my neck in neck deep water and I thought a gator had me.
Got my blood pressure up but then I had a good laugh and enjoyed being out in nature with God's beauty all around.

Wading a fresh water lake last spring. Getting little bumping on my calls. School of Blue Gills nipping me.

In Florida after a couple of scoops of sand and shells I always get sheeps head fish , they also call them convict or prison fish. There unusual looking fish and they have almost human looking teeth. They wont bite you there just looking for something to eat in the debris from your digging. I've had them follow me around for an hour or so , as long as I'm digging.

Stepped on a flounder n it went up my leg, almost crapped on myself, did get barbed by Stingray when I was a teenager, bad experience. HH

Had a mammal bump up against me...it was a Flipper! Detecting in the water at Desoto Beach and a dolphin snuck up behind me and bumped me. I was digging and the little fish were all around me eating the stuff that my digging brought up. That attracted larger fish which the dolphins love to eat. I had three of them around me for almost an hour. The one dolphin even let me rub its back and belly. It had a great big grin on its face. It was an awesome experience.
