I had a post awhile back about a Rose Bowl ring that I found while detecting a park in the Seattle area. A couple of weeks ago I was able to meet up with the rings owner at a restaurant in Seattle and gave it back to him. I mentioned to him that I would like to do a story about returning his ring and having it published in my local newspaper and at the time he thought it was a neat idea. I contacted the sports editor of my newspaper and he wanted to do my story. I contacted the rings owner and he did an about face and didn't want to speak with anyone. I was hurt and upset that this guy changed his mind, but there is nothing I can do about it now. I was hoping to get my story published and show the general public that some metal detecting stories do have a happy ending when it comes to finding the owner of a lost ring and getting it back to them. Maybe I was expecting too much from this guy, but it won't stop my efforts to locate the owners of rings that I might find in the future. This guy got his ring back and I got a free lunch............... : ) Whoopee!! HH and thanks for looking and sharing a shoulder to cry on........ : )
