Well here's a new one. My toggle switch broke when I was pinpointing a target. (turned out to be a quarter). Never had that happen before. Now I get to send my V back to whites for the third time. All the money I have spent sending this thing back to whites I could have bought a cheaper machine that won't break down. Yeah I know Whites will take care of it but it sure is a pain in the azz. I may just buy a minecrap to use. I still have my trusty DFX to use while I wait for it to be repaired

I had that happen a few years back to my PRL1, which was my fault for the way I had the detector stored. I brought it in to the shop that I purchased it at, and he was able to fix it on the spot! Luckily I purchased it at a hobby shop and he had all the tools.

Got off the phone with Whites. They said I could replace the switch myself. They are going to send me two switches in the mail. Thanks Whites! Beats sending it in and spending the freight money.

I replaced the switch on a friends XLT. Not to bad. I have a small soldering iron, made things go better.

Good Luck

The toggle switch just plugs in. It will be very easy to do. No soldering required.

I'm sorry...I mixed it up--replaced a headphone jack= that I did solder :-|

I haven't been inside a V3 yet, but I have replaced the switch on other models and not a difficult job at all. I'm sure you can handle it.

Thats good to hear man. I know how you feel had a Mine Lab I had to send back to Las Vegas twice! And it was brand new! I finally just got my money back and got a new machine.

Discover today while cleaning upmachine from the DIV hunt that one of the screws holding the meter housing together is loose and now the gasket does not seal. Screw will not tighten up it is stripped out. Whites is going to replace the meter housing. Bad 10dd coil now this in 5 months, whats next?

Actually the V worked pretty good, was able to hunt side by side with the pulse machines no interferance. They are right every thing reads like iron till you get it out of the groundHere is what I found

Nice collection ya got there.... I'd be curious to see how that dirt reads someday myself.

So in three days I had the toggle switch delivered free of charge from Whites and in 15 minuets the new toggle switch is installed and the V is back in business. Easy to do. If i can do it anybody can Way to go Whites
