BULLSEYE PINPOINTER

ive had my bullseye pinpointer for about a month now and have been detecting with it 4 times about a total of 10 hours. each time i go out the pinpointer seems to be malfunctioning even more. if i bump it or hardly shake it, it goes off. im new to detecting and have read posts of adjusting sensitivity. my question is, do i adjust sensitivity some way or send it for repair? any help is greatly appreciated.

Take the back off with the four small screws. In the top right corner is a small pot (variable resister).Adjust this to the most sensative setting without falsing. I had to back mine off some.

thanks rich ill try it. do you know if it will void any warranties if thats not the problem though?

Don't know about that, there are no seals or anything so I am not sure that anyone could tell you messed with it. Mine took about 1/8th of a turn counterclockwise and was just fine afterwards.

... unless you chop it open with a hacksaw (grin). After taking off the 4 silver screws, and with the battery attached, and the Bullseye turn "on" (button pshed in, or the toggle switch flipped to "on") then adjust the trim pit with a thin bladed screwdriver until stability is restored. A simple job which takes only a few minutes.

THANKS RICH AND JIM FOR YOUR INPUT.VERY MUCH APPRECIATED

After reading the above post about the Bullseye pointer I was watching for this to happen to me when I got my new mxt and the pointer. I went out for the first time today and sure nuff it would give false on and then off but would stay steady when finally on a target. I took the back off but before I backed off on the adjustment I checked to see how far it would detect a penny in the air. I estimate about 1 1/2 inch. I then made the adjustment, a slight turn counter-clockwise and checked it again. It reduced the detection range by ablut 1/2 inch. I backed up a little and checked and got it to read the penny at about 1/4 inch from where it was originally. I used it after that without any trouble but felt that the detection range may not be a good as the original setting but it may be when it gets a target in the ground. I just don't know for sure because I am certainly no expert since this is my first day out.
