Bullets on the beach

I found this large bullet on the Venice Beach in Florida last week. It was really encrusted when I found it. I think it might be from an aircraft gun from when they flew military aircraft from the Venice area back around the WWII era. I can't be sure but it is big. Sorry about the fuzziness of the pic. I need a better camera for close up pictures.

Hey Ken...Looks like you found a .50 cal. I used to find them all the time here on the North Florida beaches. Not far from me used to be Camp Gordon Johnson and Alligator Point beaches where they trained for the D Day invasion. I found a bunch just walking on the beach. Nice find...HH. ...Billy

Ken, Billy is right on. I have also found many of these .50 cal. at Camp Gordon Johnson.
