bullets in wood

GRAY GHOST

New member
hello all, shown are 4 bullets in wood. 2 or 3 of them are modern, but the one on the bottom i believe is a shot .36 cal. teardrop. they sure are fun to find. i have several others, but the bullets are not visible at all, one being very heavy. thanks, and enjoy. hh,

hahaha, i do when nobody's watching! seriously, tho, i have found all of them - i got like 8 or 9 of them - some with civil war bullets in them, just laying on the ground or shallow. i guess the old tree finally died and rotted away. but the neat thing about finding bullets in wood is that the bullet releases lead oxide into the surrounding wood, it's a natural preservative. so the wood surrounding the bullet doesn't rot away. cool, huh? hh,
